The Federation of Horses in Education and Therapy International A.I.S.B.L. is a not for profit organization with members in over 45 countries worldwide. The overall mission of HETI is to facilitate the worldwide collaboration between philanthropic, educational, scientific or therapeutic organisations who incorporate horses in the provision of their services.
HETI is composed of an International Executive Committee made up of 6 to 9 International member representatives from around the world.

HETI’s International Council is made up of all the Federation members from around the world.

HETI Federation members have hosted 17 triennial International congresses. For the past 20 years HETI has published an educational and scientific journal, now titled HETI Journal : International Research and Practice. The HETI Journal has been peer reviewed since 2012.

We have over 100 multidisciplinary member organizations and professional associations globally such as the AVMA, AAHA, JAHA, WSPA, and AAH-ABV in the veterinary medical field, the HABRI Foundation, ISAZ, and a wide range of academic centers, AAA and AAT practice organizations. The very large cadre of member organizations strongly positions IAHAIO to lead the HAI field in important directions.

Introduction
Ann Kern-Godal’s Memorial Fund for Horse-Assisted Therapy was founded by Tore Godal in memory of his wife Ann Kern-Godal. The fund’s purpose is to promote evidence-based research into horseassisted therapy (HAT) for different patient groups. The fund is open to international applicants. Since horse-assisted therapy is an emerging field of research, the areas the fund supports should be relatively open-ended and include at least three categories:
1. Stipend for a PhD candidate’s research into HAT, where their thesis focuses wholly or partially on HAT.
2. Stipend for a postdoctoral position dedicated wholly or partially to HAT. Exploration of new methodological procedures is considered particularly valuable.
3. Prize given to the best institution with regard to promoting HAT research. Especially promising research projects may receive support for up to 3 years. The available funds are announced every year on 15 January. The application deadline is February 15.
